We’re Hiring: Full-Time Second-Shift Operator (North Carolina Only)
There are a few specific requirements for this position that are not flexible.
Please take a moment to read the full job description carefully before applying to ensure this role is right for you.
- Location: Work from Home – Must Reside in NC
- Hours: Second Shift Only | 3 PM – 11 PM | Full-Time | 100% Remote
- Company: The Message Center
This position requires exclusive focus and cannot be combined with another job or side work. Our work is 100% phone-based, and calls are often urgent and time-sensitive. While the total number of calls is usually under one hundred per shift, there is no guarantee of how many will come through, as ten or one hundred may arrive, each representing an important issue that cannot wait, with most shifts averaging fewer than fifty calls. Each call varies in length, but the average duration is about 75 seconds, requiring focus, precision, and composure. You must remain attentive and available for every call that appears on your operator station throughout your shift.
We provide your computer, keyboard, monitor, mouse, and headset. You must have:
- A dedicated home workspace with enough room for our equipment
- A quiet environment free of background noise
- Reliable, high-speed wired internet (Wi-Fi alone is not enough)
Though the pay is slightly less than an in-office role, the balance it brings is greater: no commute, no dress code, no daily rush. In its place comes stability, calm, and the quiet satisfaction of meaningful work among a steady and trusted team.
